St. Mary’s Raharney is a vertical co-educational school under the patronage of the Catholic Bishop
of Meath, Dr. Tom Deenihan. The school seeks to appoint a Teaching
Principal beginning on the 4th November 2024.
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with the strong inter-personal
skills that are required to lead and maintain a happy, active, and progressive school
community. A commitment to supporting the Catholic ethos of the school is essential.
Likewise fostering links with the wider community is desirable.
This school always strives to be a child-centred, happy and safe environment for all its pupils
to learn and develop to the best of their individual strengths and abilities. In addition to high
academic expectations pupils are provided with opportunities to participate in a wide range
of extra-curricular activities.
It is the policy of Raharney NS to foster self-esteem and empathy and to value each pupil

efforts and initiative recognised and rewarded appropriately.
The roles and responsibilities for post are set out in the four domains of Leadership and
Management as specified in DoE Circular 0044/2019, Chapter 4.

Candidates should have current and continuing Teaching Council registration and show
evidence of and commitment to ongoing Professional Development. They must have an in-
depth knowledge and experience of SEN, EAL and managing special classes.

The appointment will be subject to current vetting requirements and occupational health
screening
