Western Australia is looking for skilled and enthusiastic teachers like you. If you are an Irish secondary trained teacher, looking for your next adventure or hoping for a better work/life balance then teaching in Western Australia is for you.
Our International Teachers Pool gives you the opportunity to explore teaching in our incredible state. Western Australia (WA) is a large and diverse state with landscapes ranging from white sandy beaches, vineyards and ancient forests in the south, tropical climates and spectacular rock formations in the north and the arid red dirt of the famous Australian outback. The variety of landscapes makes it the ideal location to explore and experience the relaxed outdoor Australian lifestyle – there truly is a place to suit everyone.
Why you should teach in WA:
Earn up $113,568 AUD pa with additional incentives and allowances of up to $35,000 (depending on location)

Your skills and qualifications:
- You have a teaching qualification from the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Canada or South Africa
- You are able to meet Department of Education English proficiency requirements
- You have 2 years of full-time teaching experience (or equivalent) gained over the past 5 years post qualification
- You are committed to cultural responsiveness
- You are dynamic and ready for the opportunity of a lifetime
Visa application process and timelines:
We will sponsor successful applicants for a Temporary Skill Shortage visa (subclass 482) which also covers a partner and dependants. This process will begin once you have you have been appointed to a position in one of our schools. Our International Recruitment team will assist you through the entire application process.
Any extra requirements for visa:
Requirements include:
- Be able to demonstrate the required level of English proficiency
- Hold a recognised teaching qualification, which may include an undergraduate Bachelor of Education, or a post-graduate teaching qualification such as a PGCE or M.Ed
- 2 years of full-time teaching (or equivalent) in a school within the previous 5 years
